INCENTIVE: Dean Winchester has made a lifetime of bad decisions, poor choices, you name it. His most recent one is managing to kill Death – yeah, that one, the friggin' horseman of the apocalypse, with his own scythe, no less – and while it removed a massive curse from his person, it also unleashed something horrible. Something super-mega-absolutely-fucking-terrible that has been legitimately locked away since biblical times. He would like to put that back into Pandora's box and nail the lid shut, please. He would do just about anything possible to right that wrong – because leaving it be might uh. Mean the end of the known world for everyone living in it.

Basically, he would like the chance to do something good for once in his life, rather than consistently doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. He's got years of guilt under his belt, and if he's got a chance to make penance and have it actually mean something, that's definitely worth living in Pleasantville for a while.

FIT: Dean has never had any issue with anything labeled consensual. You name it, he's probably done it at least once – twice if he liked it, and he's just about as shameless as it gets when it comes to choosing a partner for a night. ( One, maybe two, you never know with him. ) He doesn't bother making any long-term promises as far as relationships go, which adds to the whole laissez-faire attitude he has when it comes to relationships or anything like that. ( And might be part of what contributes to his complete and utter lack of ability to both build and sustain lasting relationships in the first place. )

That being said, he's also very much an advocate of informed consent. There have been more than a handful of instances in his past in which things have gone badly for all involved parties, people ended up dying, that sort of thing – which is why he makes doubly and triply sure that, where his job is concerned, anyone and everyone knows exactly what they're getting into. ( May we remind everyone of the zapping incident with Castiel way back in season four, where Dean himself will be glad to reiterate the fact that he didn't poop for a week after being zapped across the country, not to mention not asked if he would rather take a different mode of transportation. ) Sex, personal contact is no different. It's no fun if everyone isn't enjoying themselves, or doesn't want to have anything to do with it in the first place.

He might also have a tendency to drown his worldly woes ( read: everything he should be worried about and deflects for as long as possible ) in one-night stands, and he might be lacking a bit in the close-friend-department, but once someone manages to make their way into his personal space bubble and stay there for a little while, he opens up. Becomes a bit of a different person. He needs to be able to realize that he can get closer to people without something horrible happening to them – and that requires forming a bond beyond that of a physical nature. :D
